Friday:
Went to bugis with Panther, WG and zero. WG and Zero were out of their 2 week confinement. Went to the arcade and then to the coffee shop. Hear about zero and wg Ns story.Zero story can be summarized in 2 points.1. That man2. SPFSaturday:Again a busy day. Working crazy at the casher counter. DId stocktake today. Erm. ok but a bit boring lol. 1 quarter of my first attachment is over...Wonder how I am going to spend day tomorrow....

Thursday: Much more peaceful. Except it gets busy near the lunch break and closing time. Got one doctor, send the prescription to the wrong patient. Luckily the patient did not collect the medication.Friday:Another peaceful day for me. But I don't feel like walking so much. I hurt my toe and is so painful. As for nasty customers, there are two of such people. But they will at the dispensary counter.First customer:Excerpts from customer"You are a Pharmacist and you don't know?!""You should put a label on the food that I cannot eat. What happen if I did not know about this and if I eat, what will happen to me?""We do not practise this.""But the hospital does this". To this lady: You should go to the hospital for medication then.If I am the person confronting this crazy lady, I will simply ask her to go the internet and print the whole list herself. Since she is so clever in telling us such things, might as well she go and do her own research and counsell herself. Another customer,"I don't care!!!"I feel so annoyed when he made this particular statement, "I can understand how you feel."If he really understand how we feel, he should simply just shut his mouth.Tomorrow is going to be stocktake. Hope I will have a nice stocktake session tomorrow.

Aiyo. Today was very busy. Think probably after mid autumn festival, everybody wants to see the doctor lol. Outpatient:Well. Initially it was not that busy. Until about four pm. So many prescription lol. Picking medicine like crazy. It seems to be the doctor 'closing ceremony' for us. Haha.I went in to the same doctor room twice today and receive call from him as well. Quite a nice doctor.Retail:Today is worst. Damn busy. Then the aircon like not working. So a bit hot. Then if you met some nasty customers, it make you even feel hotter.
So these are some of the customers I have met.
1st customer:
An Indian lady. Very arrogant one lol. "Do you need a receipt?""OF COURSE!"Usually people will just say 'Yes'. Then she ask why some things so expensive. Then must faster explain, if not kenna scolding from her. Basically very arrogant la and her attitude sucks to the core.
2nd customer:
She help another old lady buy a eye drop. She realized she bought wrongly. So she try to ask for a change. Then we cannot change it due to company policy. So she ask for a refund, again we also cannot due to company policy. In the end, the staff fork out the money for the refund stuff lol. Lucky not that expensive ($1.60).
3rd customer:
A drug addict. She basically first start off by asking for some items that require consultation from the pharmacist, by doing so she will get to see the doctor. So if you promote one item that she 'need', she just show you one black face. So she will fake don't know how many stories la. "I need the acne lotion. I already got the cream. So I want the lotion. Also, I need another type of eyedrop. I wonder if there is a eyedrop better than this (referring to the one she is using)"A woman try to promote her acne lotion and the drug addict display a black face.'Hmmm, I think you should go and see the pharmacist.'Once she see the pharmacist, she will try to ask for a cough syrup, codeine, which drug addict likes. At the counter."Are you the pharmacist?""No." Again she display a black face."Is this medicine (Promethazine) the same as this (Promethazine Codeine)?""Hmmm, no, it does not contain codeine"Still she decide to buy promethazine because she 'bought it for her children cough'. But when she realize it was for children use (her children is 15/16), she demand to ask for a refund. Well, we still refund back to her lol. She create extra trouble for us lol.I didn't know she was a drug addict until one of the staff told me. The doctor already prescribe her 2 bottles of codeine (under the law, one patient is only allowed to buy max of 2 bottles from one pharmacy). Lol I think I will see her agin in future.So if I knew she was a drug addict, I would say I am a pharmacist and tell her that medicine contains codeine and trick her into buying it. Can't believe she actually use her child to try to buy drugs.
4th customer:
"Why is this toothbrush so cheap?""Hmmm, because we can buy in bulk and thus, we can sell this more cheaper."'This is not a good answer"What the hell...
Then I tell myself, he must be selling this same item at a higher price, so jealous when we sell it more cheaper. haha.Wearing a lab coat is very stressful. Sometimes I juts feel like not wearing a lab coat. But I cannot lol. Cause Mr Chan say the moment you see patient you must wear white coat. People will think that you are a pharmacist and try to ask fire you with all sort of questions. Then when I went to the clinic to find a doctor (I mention earlier), the patients all think I am a doctor lol!!! And they all was like saying "wa.. so young"... haha...Well, I also did something different. I give out queue no at the counter!!! haha...

There are not many patients today. So not that busy lol. I guess today is mid autumn festival, so people don't want to visit clinic and would prefer to eat mooncake than to eat medicine. Lol.Anyway, I made one GRAVE mistake today. In a rush to get help an auntie to give her one more customer loyalty chop and the situation was a but luan, I gave her the item (which cost $2) and forget to collect money from her. So I ended paying $2 from my pocket. Luckily she already pay for her previous item (which mount up to $73), if not I can imagine the pinch. Lol. Then Cat decide to pay the $2 herself. So I feel a bit bad lol... Haiz...Is getting a bit more boring...

Today I got scolded by one customer. She ask me whether can aspirin 100 mg be used in a patient with hypertension and diabetics. Since I cannot answer it, I have to ask the pharmacist. then she ask me whether I was a trainee. I say yes and then she say 'no wonder'. Cause she got irritated by me lol. She find it irritating that I always say "I will go and check" for every question she has asked. Lol. She say I should have a trainee badge and she will 'support' me all the way lol. Made me even hate retail more. At the retail side, there is a type of milk that is selling very well, which I do not know why. Another promoter tried to sell her milk powder, but wasn't as good as this current promoter. I wonder why.That's all for today...

Been rotting whole day at home. Did the weekly target/assignment in my logbook. I find that writing what you do every week is very dumb lol. Cause most of the time, you will be doing the same thing over and over again. Why not make it monthly instead. It is going to be another boring week. I guess I need to start planning what I should do next sunday...

End of second week of attachment. Work has been a boring these 2 weeks. All I have doing is just packing and do cashering. Saturday in polyclinic truely lives up its name. It's extremely busy lol. I been packing like crazy today. Walking from right to left, left to right like a crazy man.Anyway, I really feel like slapping those patients that are collecting medications. If they don't have money to buy a few months supply, they should mention it early when they are getting a queue no., so that we can change the amount. If not we end up rep-packing again which is waste of time, especially during busy hours.Then, there are some patients who return teh medication for counting. Some of them of jokers. They cut the entire blister into single tablet!!! Imagine those people are counting them. Oh dear.For such people, we need not be so hardworking. We should just slowly count and let them wait as long as possible. Then they will not do it again. The pharmacy is already very busy trying to cater to other patients then these patients give us even more work to do.One funny thing happen. JY keep pressing the wrong. When a customer wants to use visa or master, he pressed the button c/card. So you might be thinking it is credit card button. But then he is wrong. Is actually cash card. So the retail staff are probably shocked as they don't understand why there is so many cash card transaction. HahaToday I also went to zhen jie house to sit sit. SO shock that he told me he got denuge lol. This is the second time he got it lol. So dangerous. He got MC for than a week. SO good lol. But then his house outside very noisey cause of lift construction. So I guess he can't rest probably. Haha. ANyway, he is getting well now. So I hope he will be completely fine soon.Next week, I will be stationed at retail pharmacy in the morning and packing in the afternoon. And then next sat, there will be stock take. I am in charge of counting the sweets. Luckily lol single pills lol. If not I fainted. HahaThat's all...

Is going to end of the second week le. Sometimes, I just fell working in a pharmacy is just so boring. just work for 2 weeks and I feel bored. Everyday, just pack and doing cashing duties. I don't need to work for months or year to feel bored.I am starting to understand what Miss Dyan Lin actually say before. I don't actually need a diploma to do such stuff lol. Then also cannot dispense. Haiz. But then still, working behind in a counter is much more better than doing cashing duties. MOH is currently promoting pharmacist as a career choice. I wonder whether they will set up another pharmacy course in NTU or they increase the intake in NUS. But still,I wonder whether I should take up pharmacy in uni. I need to work longer in a pharmacy to decide.Anway, anybody asking me out this weekend?? Damn sianz.

Finally, my results are out. I thought it will be out at around 3.15 am, but it turn out to be around 3.50 am. Lol. Ok la. Did reach my expectation.CL1109: Communication Skills - B+CL2152: Basic Dispensing Skills - ACL2252: Aseptic Dispensing - B+CL3101: Drug Development - ACl3105: Essentials of Business Management - ACL3150: Clinical Research Management - ACL3151: Basic Pharmacology - DISTCL3152: Pharmacy Management - DISTCl3153: Patient Care & Management 2 - AOverall GPA: 3.734Got mized feelings about the results. Not so sad la. Overall GPA got inprove a bit la.CL1109: Communication Skills - B+Thought I could get an A for this module, guess I have not luck in communication skills series modules. But there is a improvement from communication skills 1 lol.CL2152: Basic Dispensing Skills - AWell. Kinda of lucky la since I did not do well in my practical test.CL2252: Aseptic Dispensing - B+I knew I could never get a grade beyond B+. Again, kinda of lucky since I screwed up my common test, practical test and exam.CL3101: Drug Development - AI hope I could get a DIST for this module, but there will mistakes in my test and exam. So probably because of these, I did not get a DIST.CL3105: Essentials of Business Management - AWell, again I hope for a DIST, but you know, I did not do well for my project, so that probaby cause my DIST to fly away.CL3151: Basic Pharmacology 2: DISTThis is the probably the reason why I am so happy. Today work is ok. I just feel that I prefer to pick medicine behind the counter than going out to the retail pharmacy. Hmmm... Why do I say that. Cause I feel that picking medicine is not that stressful except that you must make sure you pick the correct medicine. But when you are in the retail pharmacy, it is more stressful. Here you need to know your products pretty well cause customer will come to you and answer. So it puts a little bit of pressure on you. Then if you cannot answer, they might think the pharmacy staff are untrained lol. So ya. A bit stressful working in the retail pharmacy. In hours time, my results will be known. I really can't wait until 3.10 am in the morning. I just hope that I can get the grades I wish for... Week 2 day 1. Well. Today I did something different. I was posted to the retail in the afternoon. Since I was new here, I did nothing much expect cashing. Handling cash transaction is not too bad. The feeling of touching notes is great. Haha. But then, need to be careful, cause there will be no checking like picking the medicine. So you didn't check the amount, or press the amount wrongly, then you know what will happen lol.
Anyway, I feel so strange wearing a lab coat in the retail section lol. If it is the pharmay staff white coat, it is still not too bad. But then a lab coat in the retail pharmacy is just so strange. People migh think you are the doctor or the pharmacist and come and ask you question. That's what happen to me lol. Well. That's all for today. Hope learn more things tomorrow.

Today is sunday, resting day lol. Everyday wake up so early, of course must have a good rest. Did nothing much today except rotting. Wanted to go zj house yesterday, but then my mum hasn't taken her lunch. So need to buy lunch for her and did not go to zj house. Nevermind, next week, I will go to zj house.Can't wait for wed to come. So anxious about my exam results... Tomorrow I will be posted to the retail section. 6th day of work. When I first reach the polyclinc, the registration area is full of people. Sianz. Got to busy again. But then the patient load turn out to be less than the expected cause raining ma. Hope it rains on the busy day, so we will not be so hardworking. haha.Today, I pack one prescription. The person crazy one lol. Order 12 bottles of lactulose!!! then the tablets are also like hundreds lol. This person must a severe constipation problem if not he will not need 12 bottles of lactulose. This person machiam like shopping in the pharmacy. Mr Chan go through with us with some the medication that can lead to error lol. Everyday teach a little bit.Next week, I will be doing packing in the morning and retail duties at the retail pharmacy. 5th day of work. Today I am blogging from my work place. Yup. TPY polyclinic allows its staff to use the net during the break and after work. So that's why I am blogging here.Today bascially nothing much except packing. But then today got some customers do have enough money, so they need to change to one month supply lol. Sianz, got to pack again.The patient volume is more heavier as compare to the past 2 days. This is abit unusual as say by the staff here. Cause they say usually friday got less patient. Maybe hungry ghost festival is just over. So more patient seeing the doctor. Next week, I will be posted to the retail section in the afternoon. Ya, as for dispensing, I may get to dispense some simple drugs for 1 or 2 times lol. So what I have learnt today? Mr Chan has gave me a dispensing audit list and Bandy brief us about the pharmacy practices staff like standard list lol. By the way, someone from the PPC will be attached here for 1 week. Don't know whether it will be cal or su zhen or that TP guy. That's all for today. Forth day of work. IN the morning, Mr Chan (our supervisor) brief us on some of the things in our training program lol. Cause the pharmacy is very busy, so we have to learn those things in the morning when there is less patient. Nothing much again today, packing and packing lol. Also made and receive some calls.I happen to look at our training schedule for next week. Maybe I got chance that I will start work at 9 am. Hehe. ANyway, I have to pack medicines for another month lol. One more thing, I saw dispensing preparation in the training schedule. Haha. Maybe I got chance to do dispensing... Third day of work. Today I reached TPY polyclinic early cause the bus reach early. But not the same when I go off. I wanted to chase the bus but the dumb dumb traffic light just didn't turn green. So I missed the bus and nearly got bang by a car.Today work is quite ok. Just keep packing lol. Morning was crazy. Need to fill many prescriptions lol. So a abit montonous. Receive and make some calls. Then got one bad experience. Call one dumb dumb doctor since got one of her patient did not get his medication after a long wait. SO when I called her, she say she send the prescription long long time ago. But I say no. Then she ask me to continue to work. A senior staff went to call and also did not have a good experience. What a dumb dumb doctor indeed.I make 2 small cut in fingers from packing lol. Those packing a quite sharp, not careful and you will cut yourself.That's all for today. Second day of work. Though I would be late cause teh bus was so late (That's why I hate taking bus). But then it turn out I still reach there before time. Nothing much to day. Similar to yesterday, which is packing medicine lol except, in the morning I need to check the expiry date of Retail pharmacy products caused it was urgent. Then I make a mistake, I acidentally broke one of the vitamin bottle. Don't know whether they will deduct my pay anot. If I had not mention, the working environment is all female except Mr Chan, who is the only guy (exclude Jian Yuan & me). But then I did alot of packing, until I made some error. Give the wrong dosage, luckily there is checking, if not I can't imagine what is going to happen.That's all for today. I am going to pack medicine for another 2 days... Let's hope something different will happen tomorrow...

First day of my work. This is my first time working lol. The day started off by having an orientation at TTSH. Not only we attended, but there were 5 other TP students as well. Basically, we meet the GM, senior manger, HR exccuetive and the person in charge. Brief us about HR staf, introduction and the expectation lol.After that, we had lunch at the food court in TTSH. Food damn expensive lol. $3.50 for a plate of chicken rice. Lol. After lunch, then we depart to our respective polyclinic. Reach TPY polyclinic at about one. We didn't do much for the 1 st hour since it was the lunch break. After that, we will brief by our in charge, Mr Chan on what we are supposed to do. Basically, what I have done was to pick up label and then pick the correct medicine. Most of the medicines that I have picked up today at mainly drugs for heart, diabetes lol. Some people buy the medicines until so much, that I remember got one person other about 5 to 6 drugs each with a few hundred pills. Lol. Practically stand the whole afternoon. What to do? This is afterall work.Introduce to the staff there. But I can only remember two persons other than Mr Chan and the other pharmacist (miss Goh). One is Shee Wee which is the PT and the other Regina, which is a graduate from CPT (NYP). SHe is working there as a Pharmacy Assistant. Currenly she is undergoing a PT course.A pity we won't be dispensing any medicines. But Mr Chan say he will show us about dispensing in last week or second. We also will have a chance to visit nursing home lol.

Time flies and is the last day of my break. Practically doing nothing is whole week.I still thinking on why NYP-SCL(LS) is a good place to make friends. Please do not be mistaken that I have nothing to do, that's why I think of that. I need to think cause Ak wants it... And he also want a half body image from me... I will be in a total shock if my pic and the quote I made appear in next year open house phamlet...Can't wait to start work tomorrow... Been rotting this few days. Haiz. To think I wasted one week of break.Yesterday I just spent about $100 on office clothes. Till now, I still don't understand why do I have to wear office cloth when I am just going to a PT and not pharmacist...Went to bugis yesterday. Is been a while since I last visit there. The arcade change a little bit. Couldn't find certain games at first. After that, went to the prata shop and sat down and chat while the rest ate some stuff.I think this is should be the last time I seeing WG and zero. They enlisting next week le. Think will only get to see them 2 weeks later ba...Tomorrow is my last day of break and I still don't know what to do. Haiz. Monday attachment, and I hope that I get a supervisor... If not my life is going to be miserable. ANyway, is already miserable when I need to face with that person everyday... Haiz...

Went to cut my hair. Need to cut short since I am going for attachment. The auntie actually complement my nose and my smile. Haha. The first time lol.Think I will be buying clothes tomorrow. Gonna spend a bomb even before I start working.Now I understand there are money in CDAC, SINDA or mendaki.. Cause people working need to contribute money to such funds lol... I only earning $400 per month, minus contribution, CPF, don't know how much left le... Haiz..I still don't know how to spend my days.. Looking back, I don't know how much time I have wasted... Went back to school yesterday to use the computer. Didn't expect to see ziyi there. So I went with him to AMK hub to walk walk lol. Guess I need to buy some office clothing since I need to wear them when I go to work. I wonder why we need to wear formal clothing when we are just going to be PT...Anyway, I went to tpy polyclinic just now. It took me about 30 min to reach there from my house by walking. I am not crazy lo. Nothing to do. That's why I walk there.It still look abit old even though it has been upgraded. But the pharmacy is different. It's like a completely new pharmacy lol. Doesn't look like it has been there for don't know how many years. The patient volume is not that abd as AMK. So I think not so busy working in tpy polyclinic. Now damn sianz lol. I wonder the people must start construction work at 8 am!!! *%$%%&*^. Can't sleep lol.Anyway, I told my mum not to give me allowance after I go for my attachment, but she still insists she must give me. Ask me to save my attachment money for future use lol.She so addicted to 881 that she went to watch it again. And ahse watch not for the sake teh movie is nice, she just want to hear those songs. Might as well she go and buy the original soundtrack and she can hear all she want.Next monday I need to report to NHG pharmay Headquarters at TTSH before I go to respective polyclinic. Go there for some orientation stuff. And then going there must follow some guidelines for wearing lol. Think need to cut my hair le. Thinking of changing hairstyle since must cut short...The worst part is that now I need go to TPY polyclinic with that person. I already need to work with that person for 3 months, and now I even need to go there with him on my first day of work.
