Today's phlebotomy test was alright, except for the mcq, which are a bit tricky.

I am now thinking how to squeeze more tips from lecturers... Looking at my exam time table, I wonder how I am going to study.

Can't wait for all the projects to be finished...

Then got one qn, if you do not have a good english, the qn can be hard to answer. The qn is asking you to re write some sentences lol. Don't know whether I got write them good enough.

Then yesterday got crm presentation. Was abit worry that it might not work. But then, it seems it did work in the end.

Can't understand why it is been raining these few days. When wil the rain stop...

Sianz.. Still got projects and test... Hope they can fast end...

Today's quite a not bad day. Don't know why I am feeling so sianz lol.

Got our first mentor meet mentee session. Miss Leong quite a funny person. Don't know why keep laughing. At least it do spice up the atmosphere.

Finished my pharmacology test on fri. Quite ok for me. Can do most of the qn. Got one mcq I actually put down the correct answer but then change it lst minute. What a waste.

Miss Emily's liew is quite tight. No matter how much I pressed for some tips, she wouldn't reply except do your tutorial. I can foresee the pharmacology exam is going to a tough paper...

Anyway, this weekend also busy. Need to study comm skills, do tutorial and projects. Haiz. Hope this go fast.

The exams time table is out. It sucks. FOur papers per week. And they are consecutive papers. Should have spaced them a bit ma. I scared not enough time to study lol. Haiz. Hope can faster clear and go for my attachment!!!

I wonder whether did you guys read this news?

Power failure sends Govt sites offline

Ansley Ngansley@mediacorp.com.sg

IF YOU could not visit some Government websites yesterday, you were not alone.

A power failure meant many Government websites were offline for a few hours from late morning. Email systems for civil servants were also affected.

Homepages of public offices including those for the Ministries of Home Affairs, Manpower, Finance and Transport could not be accessed, while websites of statutory boards such as the Public Utilities Board and the Singapore Tourism Board — along with the Supreme Court and Subordinate Courts websites — were also down.

However, some websites remained unaffected, such as those for the Ministries of Education, Defence and Law, and for statutory boards like the Central Provident Fund.

Responding to queries from Today, an Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore spokeswoman said the problem was caused by a power failure at the Government Data Centre at 11.40am.

"Initial investigations revealed that the outage was caused by a power failure that occurred at 1-Net's premises, where the Government Data Centre is housed. We apologise for any inconvenience caused to the public," she said. Affected email systems were back to normal by 7pm, she added.

1-Net is a wholly-owned subsidiary of MediaCorp Technologies. Power at the centre was restored at 1pm and a check at 4.30pm showed that all the sites were operational again.

Even NYP was affected by it. All gov emails were crushed. ANything inside are all gone, and even the back up is also affected. Can you guess how many people are affected by this? About 100,000!!! Even the PM is also affected by this....

Anyway, got phlebotmy class yesterday. Play with the fake arm. Haha. Due to my mischeive, I went to close the sharp containiner. Luckily, the cover is not yet locked, if not I don't know how to dispose the needles.

Got NAPFA test yesterday. You can probably guess that I have failed. Well, I was already mentally prepared that I am going to fail. Look at me, can pass meh... Fail one station, standing board jump lol. Then the pull up, I actually only do 4, about to reach 5. Then the person close one eye lol, so he put it as 5. The most disappointing station was the 2.4 km. I can actually just pass. In the pass in the old sec days, I could run under 11+ min. Now, 12+ min. I actually stop and walking during the 2.4 km lol which I shouldn't have done. But then I do not know why my kidney area feel so painful, as as result, I got to walk. Haiz.

In my class, only 2 guys got silver and one gal got gold. COngrats them lol. As for me, I should probably train ba and go for the next test.

After the test, can't stand. this person. Those of you who are around should know who this person is. He is so darm irritating. Keep talking non stop. People are already tired or are depressed because of the result. But then he keeps on talking and even talk about what happen during each station, blah, blah. He talk as of he is the best... Feel like scolding him lol. He feel so cocky about him getting silver. Can't stand him. Doesn't know how to keep his mouth shut. Sometimes, someone must really tell him in the face and in front of a group of people...

Stopping about that guy le. Goona have my third pharmaco test tomorrow. Gonna be tough. TEsting about CNS drugs. Hope I don't turn mad after test. Hope I can get an A...

All the best to you guys tomorrow and happy studying...

HArry Potter is not bad. Too much short scebe. Only the last part is nice. Went to eat KFC after that.

WHat am I doing now? ROtting lo. 8 hours of break le. Felt that I wasted so much time. COuld have finish memorize my pharmacology test if I have studied. Haiz.

Later got aseptic dispensing practical. Hate the prac...

Finally, I get to know MOST of my comon tests results. Only EBM not known yet.

Basic Dispensing Skills: A
Aseptic Dispensing: B+
Drug Development: A
Clinical Research Management: A
Basic Pharmacology II: A
Pharmacy Management: A
Patient Care & Management II: A

So as you can see, I didn'g to A for one of the module. Haiz. Now I just hopping I will get an A for EBM. It seems that this common test alot of people did quite well, especially Drug development. Our class did the best for DD. Haha.

Now worrying for this friday pharmacology test. I have finished Henry's part, but as for Emil's part, ehh, ehh. Her part so hard to study lol. I really got to say something her lecture notes. The notes seems to be copy and paste from the reference book. Nothing is been filtered lol. Haiz. So much things to study lol. Brain going to burst le. After finishing anti-psychotics, is not learn something about anti-psychotics, but rather I think I will get psychosis!!!

Anyway, going to watch harry potter later... Haha...

Need to study for pharmacology test. Dr Henry Leung's part is still alright. But when I look at EMily's part, I feel like giving up. So much things to study lol. Just look at examples of a particular class of drugs is enough to kill you. She EXPECTS us to know everyone of them. Crazy lol.

Thought of what Henry say about studying. He said that the hardest part in studying is not the content, but is actually one's focus. I find it very true. If you have the focus to study, no matter how much thing you need to study or memorize, you will be able to focus and do it. But if you do not have the focus, no matter how little and alot, you will not be able to study them.

What about me? I do not think that I possess such focus. If I have, I would probably ace all my exams. Haiz. If I possess such focus, I would probably be able to finish memorizing Emily's part by now. Haiz. I need the mood, the environment and correct timing to have focus. Funny right? Haha...

I am still anxious for my common tests results. Hope it will be release when I go back to school tomorrow for my EBM project interview.

Looking forward to watching Harry Potter tomorrow...

It's been a while since I last blog.

Think BKS can't teach tutorial. ALl he do is flash the answers and let people copy. DIdn't really go through the qn. He might as well print the answers for us, but then he don't allow. For those who know how to do, is still alright. But what about those who don't know how to do? He sucks in tutorial. When taking the attendance, I didn't know the test results (marks) is behind it. WHen I learnt about it, it was too late. I already gave him back the attendance and if I take it back, he probably will remove the results.

Went to Changi general hosptial for field trip. WEnt there to see the clinical trial research unit. Quite quiet lol. Visit few of its room inside the unit. There is a lab, wards, equipment room and a recreational room. This recreational room got coms and ps2, xbox, etc. There is also a "living room" where there are plasma tv, dining table. Sounds more like a resort. And you get paid $150 per day if you stay there. Makes more people want to be volunteer. Haha

After visitng the CTRU, we got some time left and went to visit the pharmacy. Quite a lot of people. Walk around the pharmacy and observe how the pharmacists dispensed. Some just give very brief instructions while some go through like our practical session. This job can be quite boring as said by some other people. Imagine processing prescriptions and prescriptions non-stop and saying the same thing over and over again. Think if you got to do this for months and years. Is boring and no challenge. Probably that's why alot of pharmacists leave this scene. Not a bad trip afterall. And more people wanting to be volunteer for clinical trial.

Miss Emily Liew's finally learnt not to read from the slides le. But then she still sometimes read though.

Drug Development lecture on thursday was quite interesting. Hearing tons and tons of story from Dr Henry Leung. Make us keep laughing. But then, this is the way to keep the lecture live. ANyway, I didn't know he is a Britain citizen although he was born in Hong Kong. And he also say about his life story when he was young, how he study and some of his interest (buy stocks). Haha.

Today was the FIRST, ONLY & LAST laboratory practical we have. Got an A for today practical. I also finally managed to make an appointment with the boss of Bionovar for my project. Need to hurry le.

Waited like crazy for the release of the common test results, and in the end, only 2 modules results were released. Why must they make us wait so long.... I am so anxious about the results, especially pharmacology, aseptic dispensing and EBM... Now must wait even longer... ANyway, these are what I got.

Basic Dispensing Skills: A
Clinical Research Management: A (Phew, thought I couldn't get an A)

These few weeks are going to be crazy for me. Tests and presentation. Going to go mad soon. Next week got NAPFA, sure fail one... Might need to train harder and go for second round...

Looking forward to watch Harry Potter and Order of Phonenix next weeK!!!

Is been such a long time sincee I last blog. Let's me blog what happen in this week ba.

Tuesday was the graduation ceremony. Congrats to those graduates. Also congrats my senior who make it to the pharmacy course in NUS. Hope I can also get in NUS Pharmacy... Didn't know Mr Koh will be back. Or else will have find him and chat with him. First lectuer with Miss Emily Liew. DOn't know what to say. Most of the time she was reading from teh slides. Reminds me of Tay Boon Hunt...

Wednesday was the student dialouge session. Or you can call a session that can break people rice bowl. Anything u say might cause the job of another person... Dr Joel Lee spend one hour talking... Those year 1s complian about one maths lecturer who left the lecture hall. What a irresponsible lecturer. Then the most complaints come from us year 3. Haha. I didn't complain much thing. Every lecturers that see me ask me about the dialouge session. lol

Thursday. First time being taught by Miss Dyan Lin. Apparently the lecture wasn't a smooth one. The MB students were complaining about she dividing the class into 2 portions, MB and PCT and she kept making refernce to us. They felt being ortracise. SO complain lol.

Anyway Miss Dyan Lin is leaving. So fast lol... This semester so many lecturers leaving.. HAiz....

Friday was drug development presentation. The presentation was quite smooth, although it was quite long. Luckily I could answer one of the question posed. Such a long time since I got a "recess". HAving lessons halfway and going for lunch before coming back or lesson.

Mr Peter Yap lesson is getting more interesting. Love attending his lesson. Haha. His jokes are just too fine.

Did I mention that there was water leaking in the mass spec room? Hope the machine doesn't spolit. The room is worth half a million due to teh eqiupment inside (thanks to the mass spec, which cost about one 5 room flat).

Time is flying so fast. ANother 2 months and I will be going for my attachment. Oh, did I mention, I am not going to Pfizer for my attachment. They don't want me. Cause they say production is low and if I go, I won't be able to learn anything. Treat me like a cheap labour... Never mind. Now I don't have to think where to go for attachment. And most probably, I will be heading for hospital and polyclinic for my attachment.

This is week 12 le. From next week onwards, I am going to be very busy le. Projects to rush then tests to study. Haiz. So busy lol. After that will be exams and then attachment!!! I so looking forward to the attachment.

Next week goona have NAPFA test... Gone case le... Think go BMt early... Now Zj is in unit. Pity him. There is so tiring lol. I wonder what about me in the future if I go unit... SUre die one la...

Ok. That's all now. Blog again next time...
